OSHAssociation UK – NIGERIA REGION PARTNERS NASARAWA STATE GOVERNMENT ON 13 SAFETY ZONE INITIATIVE PROJECT

It was a propitious moment for the Nasarawa State Government and OSHAssociation Nigeria region, where the 13 Safety Zone Initiative Project was unveiled at the government house in Lafia by His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi Sule the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, who is a Fellow of Occupational Safety and Health Association UK (OSHAssociation UK) practically accepted to partner with OSHAssociation Nigeria Region to implement and promote safety, health, security systems in every locality of Nasarawa State so as to save lives, preserve properties and protect the environment in the 13 local governments of the state, and to ensure zero accident mechanisms are in place around factories and various workplaces in the state.

The 13 Safety Zone Initiative Project will ensure that there is a public risk assessment and audit, safety review within the state, hazard management portfolio and zero accident in the private and public sectors, in the homes and the public environment around Nasarawa State. Occupational Safety and Health Association is purposefully pursing a Nigeria where lives are valued, where safety systems are installed to protect human beings and the environment.

The Executive arm of the state government led by His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State welcomed the OSHAssociation Nigeria delegation including the Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Aliyu Tijjani-Ahmed and top government officials were amongst the representatives on the side of the state government.

Dr Dalhatu Mohammed Ahmed the regional president of OSHAssociation UK -Nigeria Region led the distinguished fellows of the Association, with the Emir of Azari, Dr Mohammed Kabiru Musa 11, HRM Olusegun Aderemi JP, the Atayero of Aramoke Kingdom Ekiti State, Dr Reginald Anyanwu, professor George Geniji from Federal University Lafia, Engr Emmanuel Uwalaka the regional administrator, and Dr Chinonso Ndukwe the director of strategy and development of the Association in the region were there, amongst other fellows.

The 13 Safety Zone Initiative Project will rebuild the image of Nasarawa state as a safety and health conscious place and forestall the governor’s goodwill, by fostering a new hope for workers and residents in Nasarawa state. The Governor appreciated the project of OSHAssociation to ensure safety in the state and their willingness to act as the safety organ of his administration.

The 13 Safety Zone Initiative Project kicked off by the Executive Governor will commence operation soon with the partnership of the state government as directed by the governor.
